Danny from the Fitness Team has recently been promoted to Health & Fitness Manager after the departure of Kim, our previous Manager who spent almost twelve years with us.
Danny has been a part of the Patshull Park team for over four years now and brings with him a wealth of experience in fitness and a particular interest in bodybuilding having competed professionally in the past few years.
Danny started here in January 2016 as a Leisure Supervisor, before being promoted to Assistant Manager in January 2018. During Kim’s maternity leave, Danny took up the gauntlet of Acting Health & Fitness Manager in September 2018 and took over in an official capacity in January.
Danny has always had a passion for fitness which has attracted him to positions within the health and fitness industry.
We asked Danny what working at Patshull Park meant to him…
The biggest perk to my job here has always been the leisure members; I get to speak to so many different characters every day and i’ve come to be friends with a number of them. I love that we have a great community spirit here, and I know many of the members by first name. It’s nice to see that some of the members do classes together, or go to breakfast together next door at Ear’s brasserie. The environment here is so supportive, and the wider team at Patshull are great too.
It’s amazing to be able to drive up the driveway each day and see the wildlife and greenery. I’m lucky to have a great team around me too, when you work with such a small number of people it’s important to have trust and be dependent on each other.
What will you focus on as Health & Fitness Manager?
My focus throughout my time here has already been to create a clean and welcoming environment to our patrons. Since my time as Acting Health & Fitness Manager, we recruited Karen our Housekeeper who is dedicated to the cleanliness of both changing rooms.
We already have a strong fitness class attendance, but i’m never one to rest on my laurels so I would like to see more fitness classes implemented. I’m always welcome to new class ideas!
One of the aspects of the Leisure membership that I’ve always been on board with is the added extras that we don’t charge for unlike other gyms. We love to provide gym inductions, gym programmes, personal training and nutritional advice to our members so that they can get more out of the fitness routine. Regardless of whether you workout in the swimming pool, take part in Aqua Aerobics class or lift weights in the gym we can cater our advice to suit your fitness levels and love to see what a positive impact it has.
